On 17th June 2026, our team proudly took NCC’s Community Van out for its very first mobile engagement event, and what
an incredible start it was!
The day was filled with meaningful conversations, community connections, and practical support. In total, we engaged
with 46 local residents, taking the time to listen, offer guidance, and connect individuals with the services they need to
thrive.
We were especially pleased to support people on their employment journeys, successfully enrolling 2 residents onto the
EI Trailblazer programme, helping them take positive steps towards new opportunities and career progression. We also
referred 2 residents to Connect to Work for more intensive support that best meets their needs.
Health and wellbeing were also a key focus of the day. The team delivered on-the-spot health checks, providing
residents with valuable insights and encouraging proactive steps toward better health outcomes.
In addition, we were able to offer housing and financial advice to 3 residents in need, ensuring they received tailored
support and direction during challenging times.
This first outing for the Community Van truly showcased the power of bringing services directly into the heart of our
communities. By meeting people where they are, we’re breaking down barriers, building trust, and making support more
accessible than ever. Some of our partner organisations stopped by to show their support including TEDCO, Thriving
Together and Silx.
We’re incredibly proud of the team’s efforts and excited for what’s to come as the Community Van continues its journey
across the county, reaching more people, making more connections, and delivering real impact every step of the way.
