Pre-schools and Primary Education
North East Lincolnshire is a high quality area for primary education and our primary results are exceptional. Many of the schools have a pre-school which means you can choose for your child to stay in the same school environment from the age of 2 until 11, giving then fantastic stability and continuity.
Many of our primary schools saw over 70% of their pupils achieve KS2 Level 4 or above in Reading, Writing and Arithmetic.
There are plenty of schools, academies and colleges in our area, several of which have achieved or exceeded national grade averages. Three of the state secondary schools have been rated as ‘Outstanding’ – Healing Science Academy, Tollbar Academy and Humberston Academy. There is also access to two top class grammar schools King Edward V1 Grammar in Louth and Caistor Grammar School and an independent school St James’ School which provides 2 – 18 co-education .

Further and Higher Education
The Grimsby Institute lies at the heart of the area’s learning providing a range of education opportunities. It is one of England’s largest providers of Higher and Further Education with particular specialisms in food manufacturing, logistics, engineering and process technology. New developments include the new Engineering and Renewables Centre, new £6m sports centre and £4m School of Art.
When it comes to studying for a degree or move to higher education, the area has excellent universities on the doorstep. The University Centre in Grimsby is built on high expectations, a focus on learning, commitment to achievement and an engaging, practical and fun education.
Both Hull and Lincoln boasts top rate universities and are less than a hour away. Hull University has established itself as one of the best in the country and boasts stats such as 7th ranking university in the North (Sunday Times Good University Guide 2014). The University of Hull provides over 2000 courses and a student population of over 200,000.
Lincoln University was named among the top 10 modern universities by the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2015 and prides itself on getting students into work. 91% of its graduate were either in employment or further education within 6 months of graduating.
